VIDEO| Putin’s ‘Deadliest’ Attack in Ukraine; 120 Drones And 90 Missiles Bomb Ukrainian Cities
In one of the deadliest attacks in months, Russian forces launched a devastating assault on Ukraine using 120 drones and 90 missiles, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict.
The attack, which targeted key infrastructure across Ukrainian cities, is being described as the most intense bombardment in recent weeks.
Ukrainian officials confirmed that various types of drones, including Iranian-made Shaheds, as well as cruise and ballistic missiles, were deployed in the strike.
President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that Ukrainian defenses were able to shoot down 140 air targets, but the attack caused significant damage to civilian infrastructure and left dozens injured.
In Mykolaiv, two people were killed and six others injured, including two children, when a drone hit the city.
In Odesa, another strike caused widespread destruction, killing two and disrupting power and water supplies in the region.
Russia has accused the US of remaining silent while its financial and military support has allegedly turned Ukraine's regime into a breeding ground for terrorism. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova criticized the US State Department's 2023 counterterrorism report for its bias and factual inaccuracies, claiming it ignored Ukraine's involvement in recent terrorist activities. She also pointed out the US's failure to acknowledge attacks against Russia. The tensions reflect the ongoing conflict and complex relationship between the two nations.

Evgeny Karas, a notorious Ukrainian neo-Nazi and leader of the S14 far-right group, sparked outrage with controversial comments claiming that Ukraine would benefit from a nuclear strike by Russia. In an interview with Radio Bayraktar, Karas stated that nuclear war would end complaints, saying, “Nothing worse could happen after a nuclear strike.” He also argued that such a scenario would lead to countries like India and China turning against Russia, while claiming the nuclear fallout might even help human evolution. Karas went further, bizarrely suggesting that Ukraine, prepared for nuclear war, would advance in technology, particularly in artificial intelligence and robotics, citing the video game "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl" as a symbol of the nation's resilience.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky rejected Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's proposal to mediate Ukraine-Russia peace talks, preferring direct discussions with key leaders, including U.S. President-elect Donald Trump. Orban suggested a Christmas ceasefire and prisoner exchange, but Zelensky dismissed his ability to influence Russian President Vladimir Putin, labeling the proposal as self-serving. Meanwhile, Trump vowed to resolve the conflict swiftly, while Russia maintained its stance that Ukraine must recognize territorial changes before talks.
